Before the fall decorating starts, I thought it would be great to share a tour of our cozy neutral bedroom before it gets all fluffed up for fall.
This bedroom is still a work in progress but has slowly become a peaceful haven to rest in. After you have a kid it can be really easy for the master bedroom to be put on the back burner and become more of a storage space, but we have really put in effort to make sure we keep it a space of serenity and peace to come back to at the end of the day. So without further or do, here is the “end of summer” tour of our bedroom.
NEUTRAL BEDDING
Originally we had a white comforter but it got dirty so easily we decided to go on the lookout for something a little bit more beige but still creamy. We found this wonderful comforter at Target, the Casaluna brand! We ended up getting all of our pillows from Target as well. Personally I like having solid color pillows and 1 striped or pattern pillow to make it feel not too busy but still have some sort of accent that gives the pillow set up some character.
Our platform bed frame was from Ikea and has been a great piece so far. I will say the slats on the bottom get messed up every now and then and we have to go and fix them but for the price and the design of the piece, it was a great buy.

FURNITURE
Let’s talk furniture. We got each piece from a different place but still managed to have the wood be similar in color. I personally don’t like “matchy matchy” furniture and think it looks good when the wood pieces have slightly different character to them.
Our bedside tables were from Facebook Marketplace, I always always recommend checking there because there is most likely 1 or 2 pieces of furniture that you can get for a much lower price. These were the first pieces of furniture we got in our room, even before our bed frame, so they have a special place in my heart.
Our bench is from our furniture business Sandalwood Lane. Brance made this piece a “distressed” wood look to add some character and it is a great way to add a finished look to the end of the bed.
This empty space needed a little something added to it and when I saw these Target chairs on clearance I knew this was just the place for them. This area is a perfect spot for a sip of morning coffee or reading with the window light. Having a seating area or even just a big chair is a great way to make a bedroom feel more warm and inviting.
We got the infamous Ikea dresser after getting one in Ryder’s nursery. We actually got this dresser off of Facebook Marketplace for about half the price. Each drawer is deep and has lots of room for storage and has a clean modern look.

COZY DECOR
I loved finding little ways to make our bedroom cozy. A very easy and simple way to make ANY room cozy is THROW BLANKETS. After putting a throw blanket on the bed, bench, and chair I added some books and candles on the dresser and bedside tables to add some warmth and character to the room. I highly suggest going thrifting for white and neutral books. All of our candles are from Target.

FINISHING TOUCHES
For the finishing touches of our bedroom we added some greenery, mirrors, and a blanket basket. I LOVE this olive tree from Target and hope they bring something similar in stock soon. Putting a large plant in an empty corner makes the room feel inviting. Our long gold mirror is the first thing you see when you walk in the room and I definitely feel like placing it in that space allows the room to feel more spacious. I decided to go with gold and neutral touches for the room, I wanted everything to be “calm” which is why the colors are light and airy instead of any black finishes like the rest of our house.

Beyond just our bedroom, I thought I would add some more cozy neutral ideas down below. I pray each and every one of you soak up the last bit of summer in the pool and slow barbecue on Sundays before the weather cools down, although in Texas who knows when that will actually be. Cheers to a new season as we look back with fondness at the one passing by.
